Let me set the scene:
You come off a weekend of overspending and are faced with the harsh reality that now this week’s finances are gonna be tight. Or, if you’re like me and every other freelancer out there, you didn’t land as many gigs as you thought that you would this month, and now you’re in a jam.
Whatever the case may be, you have now found yourself broke, alone, and afraid to continue this adulting shit (so over it.) And still, even while we are our least emotionally-stable selves, we gotta eat, and eating we shall do.
BUT, how does one eat with very minimal funds currently available to them? What does one do when one *cannot* look in the eyes of the Chipotle worker telling us that guac is extra? WE GO CHEAP! Rewind your stomach back to your college years, or your early 20’s, when you were able to feed your body garbage all day and not encounter a single issue. MY GOD, what I would do to find such a clock.
The types of foods you’ll be able to get on the cheap aren’t usually the *most* healthy options out there, so try your best to get a little more flexible with your ~macro counting~, if that’s what you’re into, because shits about to get off track.
All that said, here are some of my favorite recipes that only involve minimal or super cheap ingredients to whip up in no time! I’ve been there before, and I’m sure I’ll be there again. Sometimes life gets the best of you and you’re suddenly faced with expenses you weren’t planning to have. I get it. You’ll be okay, just try to delete your Seamless app for a week or two.
And by the way — try to budget a little bit better next month, asshole.
